"Andrea, I would be interested in hearing something about the results of teachers Alverno College sends out into the public school world."
That's really the trick, isn't it. Gathering evidence of the effectiveness of teaching GS to folks. The claim is that it promotes "sanity," and that's our personal experience -- GS helps us "make sense" of the world -- but do we have evidence that it improves the lives of students. Steve's post-course reflections indicate that, immediately after the class, the students feel great about GS. What about later on? Not only, "how do they feel about it," but, "has it impacted their lives?" Of course, if you were treating this as a scientific experiment you'd need a control of some sort. Andrea, you've been doing this longer then anyone. Any thoughts?
Five years ago Andrea asked her women to let me know if they thought that having gs prior to college would have helped them. I rec'd 10 very positive replies. This year I asked Alverno to contact these same women for me and see what they thought about CEAC. They located nine. One has replied. She is still enthusiastic.
